Aktive Motion Physical Therapy is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of how we think about care generally, and we extend that to how we present ourselves online.
Our approach
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Steps we have taken include:
- Semantic HTML structure with a logical heading order
- Text alternatives for meaningful images
- Colour combinations chosen and checked for sufficient contrast
- Keyboard navigation for interactive elements, including the menu
- Responsive layouts that work with zoom and on small screens
- Respect for the operating system "reduce motion" preference, which disables animation
- Descriptive link text rather than bare "click here" labels
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review the site periodically and address issues as we find them or as they are reported. Some third-party components embedded in the site, such as form tools, are not entirely under our control, and we work with those vendors where problems arise.
